Privacy policy

How Optimize IT Pty Ltd, trading as Optimise IT, handles your personal information. Written in plain English, because that's how we do everything.

Who we are

Optimize IT Pty Ltd (ABN 35 967 376 422), trading as Optimise IT, is an Australian technology consultancy based in Melbourne, serving clients across Victoria, South-East Queensland and Australia-wide. We're committed to handling your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

  • Contact details you give us — your name, email address, phone number and business name, when you fill in our contact form, start our online diagnostic, email us, or call us.
  • Business information you choose to share — answers you provide in the diagnostic (such as staff count, approximate technology spend, and where things feel slow). You can complete most of the diagnostic without identifying yourself; contact details are only requested at the end, and only if you want us to respond.
  • Basic website analytics — we use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate region, device type). This data is aggregated and doesn't identify you.

We don't use advertising trackers, and the site doesn't set marketing cookies.

How we use it

  • To respond when you contact us or request a diagnostic
  • To provide and improve our services to you or your business
  • To keep records we're required to keep as a business

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information. We won't add you to a marketing list without your consent, and any email we send beyond direct correspondence will include a working unsubscribe option.

Who can see it

Your information is accessed only by the people at Optimise IT who need it to help you. We use reputable service providers to run our business — such as Microsoft 365 for email and document storage, and Cloudflare for website hosting — and your information may be processed by those platforms under their own security and privacy controls. We don't disclose your information to anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it.

How we protect it

We're a technology security business, and we apply the same standards to ourselves that we recommend to clients: access controls, multi-factor authentication, and encrypted storage and transmission. No system is perfectly secure, but if we ever became aware of a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we would notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask us at any time what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records we're legally required to keep). Email contact@optimiseit.au and we'll respond promptly — usually within a few business days, and always within 30 days.

Complaints

If you believe we've mishandled your personal information, please contact us first and give us the chance to put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
