Case study · Caravan parks — VIC to QLD

One network, built to scale from one park to fifty.

Camp Crusty Operations takes on caravan parks and turns them around, running the whole portfolio from one central team — a model that only works if every park has rock-solid connectivity. We deploy one repeatable UniFi design park by park: Starlink backhaul, wireless bridges around the trees, and outdoor access points.

The business model that runs on connectivity

Camp Crusty Operations takes on caravan parks and turns them around — refreshing them with the family group’s other businesses and running the whole portfolio from one central management team on a streamlined, modern guest experience. It’s a lean, efficient way to run a group of parks.

But it only works if every park has reliable internet and site-wide Wi-Fi — for the office, the booking systems, the phones and the guests. Parks in regional spots often come with poor mobile reception and little working network to start with. That’s where we come in.

The flagship: Bright Accommodation Park

Bright Accommodation Park — roughly 25,000 m², 131 sites, plus park areas, BBQ areas, a pool and an office — had very poor mobile reception and no usable network. It’s also full of trees, so a single broadcast was never going to reach the edges.

  • Stand up the office first. We dropped in Starlink so the office had reliable internet and could operate from day one.
  • Then design around the site. A chain of UniFi wireless bridges forms clear line-of-sight tunnels that hop between devices — around the trees, not through them — carrying full speed out to the park’s edges, feeding a series of outdoor access points.

A template, not a one-off

Bright is the pattern. The same design — Starlink backhaul, wireless-bridge tunnels, outdoor access points — is now rolling out across the group: a soft launch at King River Caravan Park, an upgrade of the older system at Beechworth Holiday Park, and more parks teeing up.

The endgame is roughly fifty parks from Melbourne to Brisbane within a decade. Putting every park under one UniFi fabric turns that from a logistical nightmare into a repeatable template — central monitoring and maintenance, consistent quality of service, and the same standard at park #2 as at park #45.

Beyond the network

The network is one part of the relationship. We also run their cloud accounts, domains and email across the group, and built a data pipeline that pulls booking data into a single live dashboard — so the central team can manage the whole portfolio from one place. The connectivity layer is what makes the entire centralised, low-on-site-labour model possible.

Point at the problem. We’ll optimise it.

Start with a short, no-commitment diagnostic. We’ll look at what you’ve got, tell you what we’d change and what it would save — and if everything’s in great shape, we’ll tell you that too.
